BSG Teases New Weapons Coming To Escape From Tarkov

Battlestate Games loves their guns as evident with 104 different guns and over 1,000 weapon parts. So it’s no surprise when they want to add a few more. Earlier today, BSG teased us with animation images of four new weapons for Escape From Tarkov. These weapons are the Heckler & Koch UMP, SIG MCX, KRISS Vector and S.W.O.R.D. International Mk-18 Mod 1 Mjölnir. No word on when they will be released, but we can be excited knowing they are being worked on.

Heckler & Koch UMP

The Heckler & Koch UMP may be the first submachine gun chambered in the new .45 ACP round added to the game. The UMP is made by the famous German manufacturer as the MP5 and shares many similar styles. With mounts standard on the rail and foregrip we can expect to have more customization than the MP5 currently in the game. The UMP has a slower firing rate than the MP5 due to the higher caliber. However, the power of the .45 ACP round makes this weapon deadlier – especially with the .45 ACP RIP and .45 ACP AP rounds. H&K makes a 10 round, 15 round and 25 round magazine for the UMP. Without a drum magazine option the limited ammunition may be the balancing factor for this gun.

The SIG MCX is an assault rifle built by SIG Sauer. It is considered the younger brother to the popular SIG MPX submachine, but in assault rifle size. The real weapon is chambered in either 5.56x45mm or .300 AAC Blackout. We would love to see the .300 AAC Blackout introduced to the game, but most likely the game version will be 5.56x45mm as the round is already in the game. The SIG MCX has the higher rate of fire when compared to the Colt M4 and H&K 416 already in the game. A 5.56 SIG MCX would use most of the same attachments and magazines as the M4 and HK416.

The KRISS Vector is a unique submachine that will be chambered in either 9×19 Parabellum or .45 ACP. Hopefully it will be available in both. Its unique design uses a delayed blowback system that reduces the recoil felt by the shooter. The has an extremely high rate of fire at 1,200 rounds per minute. The 9mm version utilizes Glock magazines though we are not sure the SGMT 50 round drum magazine would fit. If the .45 ACP Vector is introduced, then we expect to see 10 round and 30 round magazines. The design of the Vector allows for a lot of attachments including suppressors and optics. We expect the .45 Vector to be the “bullet hose” compared to the .45 UMP which will have more accuracy at range.

S.W.O.R.D. International Mk-18 Mod 1 Mjölnir

Probably the biggest surprise was seeing animation images for the S.W.O.R.D. International MK-18 Mod 1 Mjölnir. First teased by Battlestate Games back in 2019 during a Tarkov Talking Devblog. The Mk-18 Mod is a semi-automatic sniper rifle that fires 338 Lapua Magnum, 338 Norma Magnum or 300 Norma Magnum. All of those rounds would be new to the game which is why we are surprised to see it.
